How is my Michigan Family Law Case Being Handled During The Lockdown?

These are wild times. Life as we know it has come to a screeching halt, while people shelter in place and try to wait out this potentially deadly disease. But just because the new normal involves a lot of staying home, online grocery shopping, and talking to loved ones via screens, that doesn’t mean every part of life is on hold. And if you’ve got a family law case working its way through the courts, then chances are you’ve got a lot of questions about how it’s being handled during the lockdown. So let’s talk about that…

What we’re doing for our clients during the lockdown:

During the Coronavirus lockdown, The Kronzek Firm is operating remotely. Our family law team is doing virtual consultations for new clients, and remote meetings, either over the phone or via teleconferencing, with our current clients. If you have questions, need help with modifying child support, or filing an emergency personal protection order, we can help. Although we are doing our very best to stay safe ourselves, and to keep our clients safe as well, we’re still available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help. Call our main office at 866-766-5245 if you have any family law concerns. We’re here to help.

What the courts are doing during the executive “stay home” order:

Although each county court in Michigan is handling their own hearings a little differently, most of them have embraced efforts to make as many functions as possible available to the public during this time… with a twist. Hearings are now being held remotely, with Judges, lawyers and clients appearing on each other’s computer screens at home via teleconferencing. This means everything from divorces, child custody modifications, and parenting time disputes can be handled quickly and efficiently, while still respecting the need for safe distancing practices. All counties around Michigan have set policies for how they plan to handle matters during quarantine, and our family law attorneys are staying current with each and every one of them.

Whatever you need right now during lockdown, we can help.

This is a very hard time for many families. Kids not being able to go to school, and parents either trying to work from home, or unable to work at all, means a lot of added stress. Parents who are used to relying on their ex’s visitation schedules for a little peace and quiet may be without that support right now, which makes working from home (and sometimes sanity in general) very difficult. Couples who have got on each other’s last nerve while being cooped up together during quarantine might be ready to call it quits and file for divorce. Add moms or dads who are accustomed to seeing their kids several times per week may have gone over a month without being able to spend time with their children because of safe distancing due to immunocompromised loved ones.

The Kronzek Firm is ready and available to help you

Here at The Kronzek Firm, we understand how challenging this time is for everyone. But we are working hard to be flexible while maintaining our commitment to excellence during this lockdown. We know it’s hard, and everyone is doing the best they can to stay safe and be smart, but we want you to know that we’re here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our skilled family law team is reachable by phone at 866 766 5245, to guide and advise you through whatever family law challenges you may be facing at this time.
